There are various different varieties of poker but first up lets go over the basics of how to play poker.

Poker is a game of gambling. Each player places bets that  constitute a collective fund that is called the pot. Bets are made based on the cards that a player receives.  A player places  a bet based on his expectation that he has the best of the Poker Hands in the game. Anyone can learn how to play poker but there are different Poker Rules for specific varieties of the game. Generally  after  cards are dealt to individual players, one player must make a bet. After that initial “forced” bet is made the game proceeds in a clockwise motion  and players have a chance to match the initial bet or fold. Fold refers to the action of withdrawing from the current cycle of betting and having no further interest in the pot. Each player after matching the current bet can choose to raise, that is he can if he so chooses, increase the stakes by placing a premium that other players must match in order to continue playing.  The process continues until only one player remains. At that point the winning player can choose to reveal his cards to the other players or he can keep that knowledge to himself. At the end of the betting rounds if two or more players are still active  all remaining players must then reveal their hand. The player with the highest ranked hand is declared the winner and will claim the pot.

That’s the basics of how to play poker but remember that Poker Rules will vary slightly based on the type of poker that you are playing. Some games will involve more cards than others and have specific rules on dealing and so on. There is also Poker Strategy to consider.
